Parallovë lies about 14 km northwest of Gjilan. Pottery fragments have been found in its territory, and a fortress locality survives near the village neighbourhoods, indicating earlier habitation.
An Austrian map from 1689 records the form Patullova, while Kosovo Vilayet yearbooks from 1893, 1896 and 1900 preserve the name Paralova. Albanian muhajir families also settled here after the expulsions of 1878, although many later moved away.
By the late 20th century the village had a Serbian majority, while Albanian families continued to live in the area. In 1999 one Albanian resident was killed by Serbian paramilitaries, after which the family was forced to leave. Today Parallovë belongs to Artana/Novo Brdo.
