Nikaj (Nekoci)

Municipality Drenas

Nikaj (Nekoci) is in the municipality of Drenas. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Nenofc with 26 households and 4 unmarried men. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement.

The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Nikofca. For 1998–99, the source documents burning by Serbian forces. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include building foundations and pottery and tile fragments.
