Llugagji lies about 5–6 km south of Lipjan, on lowland terrain. In the southwestern part of the village, roof tiles, bricks, wells and building traces have been found, while older field patterns indicate that the locality had been cultivated and inhabited before its modern re-establishment.
The settlement was re-established in 1877–78 by Albanian muhajirs expelled from the Sanjak of Niš. After the Serbian conquest of Kosovo in 1912, many muhajir families emigrated to Turkey; the volume also records further departures under pressure during the 1950s.
In 1999 Llugagji had around 160 Albanian houses and approximately 1,350 residents. During the war, displaced people from different settlements in Kosovo found shelter in the village. According to the volume, the settlement itself escaped widespread destruction.
