Krushevë e Madhe lies about 8 km northwest of Klina. It has a compact settlement pattern. Its neighbourhoods form distinct parts of the settlement. The terrain is lowland. Recorded traces around the settlement include pottery fragments, roof tiles, bricks, old burial grounds, bridge remains, evidence of earlier habitation and use of the area.
Some of these traces are associated with the Dardanian period. The settlement appears in written records from 1200, with further references in 1202, 1282. Historical forms of the name recorded in documents include Krushova. A register from 1455 records 13 households.
The 20th century also brought emigration of residents to Albania. During the interwar period, around 1926, 23 Serbian or Montenegrin colonist families were settled here. During the 1998–1999 war, the settlement experienced burning and destruction, killings of residents, the expulsion or displacement of residents.
