Krojmir lies about 28 km west of Lipjan, in Upper Drenica. The surrounding mountains preserve traces of settlements, working tools and localities that local memory associates with trade routes, inns and an important crossing between Kosovo and Dukagjin.
An Ottoman register from 1485 recorded 20 households in Krojmir, while the 1566–74 register recorded 19. A church report from 1725 mentions a form associated with Krojmir and preserves evidence of a Christian community. The volume notes that the plague of 1796 struck the village heavily. Nineteenth-century yearbooks document related forms of the name.
Before the 1998–99 war Krojmir had around 200 houses and roughly 1,900 Albanian residents. During Serbian offensives in September–October 1998 more than 170 buildings were damaged or destroyed. Four fighters and two civilians from the village were killed.
