Kleqkë, treated in the volume as Altari (Kleçka), lies on the slopes of the Carraleva mountains, about 22–23 km west of Lipjan. The meadows preserve the localities known as Trojet e Moçme and Trojet e Kleçkës, where traces of an earlier settlement are visible. Local tradition also preserves several accounts about the area's earlier population; these are best understood as oral tradition rather than direct documentary evidence.
A register from 1455 records the settlement as Kelaçica with 38 households. The 1566–74 register preserves the form Gjelaçka with 24 households, and late-19th-century yearbooks continue to record the village.
Before the 1998–99 war Kleqkë had 28 houses and around 370 residents. During Serbian offensives every house and many other buildings were burned or destroyed; the school and its records were also burned.
