Fortesa (Vërboci)

Municipality Drenas

Fortesa (Vërboci) is in the municipality of Drenas. A historical document from 1314 mentions the settlement. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Vrba and 9 unmarried men.

A later register from 1566 documents the settlement with 64 households and 31 unmarried men. The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Vërbofc. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include fortification remains.
