Drenoc lies about 8-10 km west of Klina. Recorded traces around the settlement include pottery fragments, building foundations, bridge remains, evidence of earlier habitation and use of the area.
The settlement appears in written records from 1485, with further references in 1772, 1893. A register from 1485 records 17 households. The 20th century also brought emigration of residents to Turkey and Albania. During the interwar period, around 1933, 24 Serbian or Montenegrin colonist families were settled here.
During the 1998–1999 war, the settlement experienced burning and destruction, the killing of 12 residents.
