Municipality Kacanik

Doganaj is in the municipality of Kacanik. An Ottoman register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Dogan. For 1998–99, the source documents expulsion.

Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds and a necropolis. Historical notes mention a mosque in the settlement. The source records migration of residents to Turkey.
