Dobërdol is a settlement historically associated with the Klina area. Its neighbourhoods form distinct parts of the settlement. The terrain is hilly. Recorded traces around the settlement include pottery fragments, building foundations, old burial grounds, bridge remains, evidence of earlier habitation and use of the area.
The settlement appears in written records from 1330, with further references in 1455, 1689. A register from 1330 records 12 households. The 20th century also brought emigration of residents to Albania. In 1919, during actions by Serbian forces, 23 houses were burned or looted.
During the 1998–1999 war, the settlement experienced burning and destruction, killings of residents, the expulsion or displacement of residents.
