Budisalc lies about 12 km northwest of Klina. It has a compact settlement pattern. Its neighbourhoods form distinct parts of the settlement. Recorded traces around the settlement include bridge remains, evidence of earlier habitation and use of the area.
Some of these traces are associated with the ancient period. The settlement appears in written records from 1485, with further references in 1763, 1780. A register from 1485 records 22 households. The 20th century also brought emigration of residents to the United States.
During the interwar period, 12 Serbian or Montenegrin colonist families were settled here. During the 1998–1999 war, Serbian forces caused burning and destruction, killings of residents.
