Brabaniku (Brabaniqi)

Brabaniku (Brabaniqi) is in the municipality of Mitrovica. An Ottoman register from 1455 documents the settlement under the form Brabonjik with 47 households and 4 unmarried men. A later register from 1566 documents the settlement with 22 households and 7 unmarried men.

The register from 1893 documents the settlement under the form Brabanik. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. The source records burning connected with a documented historical conflict.
