Binxhë lies about 8 km north of Klina. It has a compact settlement pattern. The terrain is hilly. Recorded traces around the settlement include old burial grounds, evidence of earlier habitation and use of the area.
Some of these traces are associated with the Illyrian-Dardanian period. The settlement appears in written records from 1761, with further references in 1770. After the expulsions of Albanians from the Sanjak of Niš in 1877–1878, Albanian muhajir families also settled here. The 20th century also brought emigration of residents to Turkey.
During the interwar period, around 1932, 17 Serbian or Montenegrin colonist families were settled here.
