Belegu is in the municipality of Decan. A historical document from 1330 mentions the settlement under the form Belezi. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement.
A later register from 1582 documents the settlement with 27 households and 6 unmarried men. For 1998–99, the source documents expulsion and burning by Serbian/Yugoslav police. Archaeological traces mentioned in the study include older burial grounds. Historical notes mention a monastery in the settlement area.
