Municipality Decan

Belegu is in the municipality of Decan. A historical document from 1330 mentions the settlement under the form Belezi. An Ottoman register from 1485 documents the settlement.

An Ottoman register from 1582 documents the settlement with 27 households and 6 unmarried men. For 1998–99, the source documents expulsion. For 1998–99, the source documents burning by Serbian/Yugoslav police. The evidence includes older burial grounds, pointing to earlier habitation. Historical notes mention a monastery in the settlement area.
