Babush i Muhaxherëve lies southeast of Lipjan and is a compact settlement. At Arat e Gata, northwest of the village, bricks, roof tiles, carved stones, pottery and old wells have been found, providing evidence of earlier habitation.
The settlement developed as a Circassian colony around 1862 and appears in Ottoman records under the name Bereketlije. After the expulsion of Albanians from the Sanjak of Niš in 1877–78, muhajir families settled here, while part of the Circassian population left. Late-19th-century yearbooks record Babush and its period religious elementary school.
In 1999 the village had around 185 houses and approximately 1,300 Albanian residents. During Serbian attacks and shelling on 28 March 1999, two civilians were killed and two Albanian houses were burned.
