Prevalla is a high Sharr Mountains pass and village between Prizren and Shtërpcë, valued for open mountain scenery, forest edges and a slower break above the city.
A mountain pause above Prizren
Prevalla sits in the Sharr Mountains on the road between Prizren and Shtërpcë. Its appeal is immediate and specific: open highland views, conifer forest, cooler air and a clear change of pace from the city below. It works well as a scenic stop, a starting point for a walk or a base for time in the surrounding protected landscape.
Part of a wider Sharr day
Prevalla is not interchangeable with Brezovica. It is closer to Prizren and is best understood as a mountain pass and village within the national park. Recent park work has included a marked route from Prevalla towards the Lumbardhi source and Maja Bistra, but every route still needs a realistic assessment of weather, daylight and experience.
Keep plans flexible
Winter changes both the scenery and road conditions; summer brings a different walking landscape. Individual services and activities vary, so do not build a trip around assumed availability. Use Prevalla with Prizren’s historic centre for contrast, or continue into the Sharr Mountains with current local information.
